THE FERRERO GROUP PRESENTED ITS VI CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT AT EXPO MILANO 2015

News-2015-10-02

The Ferrero Group presented its sixth corporate social responsibility report (CSR) at Expo Milan 2015, which reflects its concrete socially and environmentally responsible activities carried out around the world from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2014, as well as its strategic vision for 2020.
Participants at the event included Mrs. Maria Franca Ferrero, President of Ferrero International as well as President of the Ferrero Foundation; Gian Luca Galletti, Italian Minister of the Environment; Giovanni Malagò, President of CONI; Mario Molteni, Professor at the Università Cattolica of Milano and Agostino Macrì, Professor at the Università Campus Bio-Medico of Rome. The works were being introduced by Ambassador Francesco Paolo Fulci, President of Ferrero SpA (Italy).

The report demonstrates how the Ferrero Group has social responsibility in its very DNA.
The setting for this occasion, not coincidentally, is Expo Milano 2015 at which the Ferrero Group’s presence is defined by the theme sustainability and thus fully aligned with the same values of the Universal Exposition. As evidence of this, the Ferrero Group’s structures used at Expo will continue to create value even after the event, through a gesture of "restitution". They will in fact be reassembled to become a training center or a place for the community in one of the disadvantaged areas in which Ferrero operates.

An innate facet of the Group’s strategy is the combination of quality, innovation, care for people, transparent communication, support for local communities, the promotion of active lifestyles for young people, a strong commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and the safeguarding of the environment.
There is a coherent vision between the reports over the years, even in light of the changing CSR strategy; initially structured in 4 pillars of social responsibility (Products, Ferrero Foundation, Social Enterprises and Kinder + Sport) it has taken a new structure, as of this year’s report, entitled People and Planet.

The application level of the VI report, according to GRI Guidelines, is A+, as confirmed by the GRI Application Level Service. The independent review of this report was carried out by Deloitte.
