Anaganwadi (Courtyard Shelter)
The Ferrero Group set up under the Michele Ferrero Entrepreneurial Project in 2007 at Baramati and since then has been committed to creating growth opportunities for local communities.
On 22nd February 2019, Ferrero India signed a MoU with the Pune Zilla Parishad to design and construct 8 Anganwadi centres in the Baramati district for the local community. The initiative is part of the Ferrero Group’s activities undertaken by the Michele Ferrero Entrepreneurial Project (MFEP) - which Ferrero India is part of – that operates within the Group’s CSR and Sustainability Unit. Ferrero constructed 8 modern Anganwadi buildings, at Malegaon, Gunwadi, Supe, Shirsuphal, Karhati, Parvadi, Gojubavi and Murum
Constructed on a 10,000 sq. feet area, each unit has been built using locally available materials and state-of-art design has been inspired to use air and light in the most efficient manner. Each Anganwadi is also equipped with a fully functional classroom equipped with solar panels and educational material for the children, with modern kitchen and washroom facilities. There is also a spacious, open lawn for children to play inside the boundary wall.
The Anganwadis are accessible for immediate use for learning & development by children and the local community. They are managed by the Gram Panchayats of the respective villages along with the Zilla Parishad.
These Anganwadi centres will go a long way for the overall development and modernisation of the society.
Joy of moving program in India
Ferrero’s Kinder Joy of moving is an international Corporate Social Responsibility project to promote physical activity and sport for children and families in a way that is engaging, joyful and non-competitive.
The Joy of Moving program in India is an innovative program that uses fun, play-based movement activities to get children moving and engaged in the classroom. A unique aspect of the program is that it provides children with the opportunity to improve both their physical and mental health literacy. With the global impacts of the COVID pandemic on children's health and wellbeing, holistic programs that are accessible during school hours have never been more important.
The program has contributed to a deeper understanding of critical developmental factors and design principles to enhance the health and wellbeing of all children in the classroom.
Ferrero has continued to support the Joy of moving program in India by extending its partnership with 20 schools in Pune and Baramati.
