Joy of moving program in Argentina
Ferrero’s Joy of moving is an international Corporate Social Responsibility project to promote physical activity and sport for children and families in a way that is engaging, joyful and non-competitive. At the heart of the project is the firm belief that a positive attitude towards movement will make today's children better adults tomorrow.
Joy of Moving is based on "The Joy of Movement," a scientifically recognized educational method that inspires children to move through play, while developing key skills in four main areas: physical fitness, motor coordination, cognitive function and creativity. It also teaches life skills to increase children's autonomy and their ability to meet the challenges of everyday life.
Joy of Moving has been present in Argentina since 2014. The aim of the project is to spread the Joy of Moving to all Argentine children. During these years, Ferrero also established partnerships with different sports federations and institutions that contributed to the amplification and dissemination of the program.
Currently, the project works together with the Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA), the Metropolitan Handball Federation (FeMeBAL) and the Argentine Gymnastics Confederation (CAG). We also have a partnership with the Institute of Physical Education (ISEF). Joy of Moving has also sponsored a scientific study to evaluate the incidence of physical activity in early childhood as a determining factor in the fight against childhood sedentary lifestyles.
With these public contributions, Joy of Moving helped 520,595 Argentine children between the ages of 5 and 14 to get closer to sports through donations of sports materials, nutritional training, as well as collaboration in sports events organized by Olympic medalists and sports ambassadors.
In recent years, due to the contingency situation of the COVID19 pandemic, where children had to suspend their educational, sports and recreational activities, the company reconverted its strategy to a virtual methodology that reached more than 3,000,000 children, who through their sports federations, clubs and educational institutions and with the guidance of outstanding "sports ambassadors" participated in virtual sports challenges aimed at stimulating physical activity, motivation and teamwork.
